Be decent to us, we'll be decent to you. Don't do illegal stuff, don't abuse our services, and don't be a jerk. If you sign up for our emails, you're agreeing to receive them. You can leave anytime.
This website (decent.tech) is run by Decent. When you sign up for our email list or use our services, you're agreeing to these terms. They're not meant to be tricky—they're meant to be clear.
You can:
You can't:
When you sign up, you're giving us permission to email you. We'll send you content we think is valuable. We won't spam you—that's a promise, not a marketing line.
You can unsubscribe anytime. There's a link in every email. No hard feelings. We'd rather you leave than hate getting our emails.
Everything we create—writing, videos, designs—belongs to us unless stated otherwise. You can share it, link to it, quote it (with attribution). Just don't steal it and claim it as yours.
If you find something useful, use it. If you want to do something commercial with it, ask us first. We're pretty reasonable.
We're not lawyers, doctors, financial advisors, or therapists. Anything we share is information, not advice. Use your judgment. Make your own decisions. We're not responsible if you do something based on what we wrote and it doesn't work out.
We try to get things right, but we're human. If we make a mistake, tell us. We'll fix it.
To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for damages arising from your use of our services. This isn't us being mean—it's standard internet stuff. If something goes wrong, we'll try to help, but we can't guarantee everything works perfectly all the time.
We might update these terms. If we make big changes, we'll let you know (probably via email). Continuing to use our services after changes means you accept the new terms.
You can stop using our services anytime. We can also stop providing services to you if you violate these terms or do something harmful. We'll try to be reasonable about it.
If something goes wrong, let's talk it out like adults. Email us first before getting lawyers involved. If we can't work it out, any disputes will be resolved according to the laws where we're based.
Email us at legal@decent.tech. (That address sounds formal, but we promise we're still friendly.)
These terms are written in plain English because legalese is terrible. If something's unclear, ask us. If you're a lawyer and think we need to add something, let us know. We're trying to be fair and transparent, not tricky.
